So first we saw this footage of an Ottawa bus driver losing his mind at a guy on an OC Transpo bus. He could be facing criminal charges for his threat of violence.
Then we hear that this guy is no longer allowed to sign on his bus.
Meanwhile, City Councillor Diane Deans (Twitter) apparently thinks it is illegal to videotape and photograph people on the bus. The Canadian Criminal Code says different. Listen; passing a bylaw saying that people cannot do this or that – it has to comply with the criminal code and the Charter of Rights, so the bylaw “banning” cameras is, well…. I would love to challenge it in court, quite frankly, and I publicly challenge Councillor Deans to prove me wrong.
Y’see… on January 20, 2011, my wife and I had a run-in with a driver who decided that haranguing me and making fun of my medical marijuana was perfectly valid. So did OC Transpo’s chief fart-catcher, Ann Marie Foley.
As a result, I am in the process of filing an Ontario Human Rights complaint against the driver, the company, the city, and the province. The driver, company, and city will be asked to apologize in writing. However, Ontario will need to give me $10 million to satisfy me.
Also, the recent route changes have done much to rob many drivers of their seniority and other rights, so really the city is saving money on the back of the drivers and riders. They are subjected to daily hassles at the hands of riders as a further result of these so-called “improvements”.
And prices for this ridiculous “service” are about to go up.
So, I think it is time that Ottawans sing on busses – and film it all – in protest and solidarity for The Singing Bus Driver. Time to push back against this weird company and the bizarre council who monitors them.
